29th May 2025 - Call with Leanne Creighton, Senior Influencing Manager at Sue Ryder Care

On Thursday 29th May, our founder Alice had a call with Leanne Creighton, Senior Influencing Manager at Sue Ryder Care.

Alice shared a bit about what led her to start the petition and updated Leanne on progress so far.

Whilst Sue Ryder are unable to share the petition directly given internal policy, Leanne praised Alice’s efforts and was more than happy to chat about the work they do in this space. Alongside Cruise and other bereavement charities, Sue Ryder form part of the National Bereavement Alliance so will be be part of the upcoming consultations on the Employment Rights Bill. Sue Ryder’s team who work on bereavement is currently expanding, so Leanne had no doubt that there was more to come in this area for them over the next few years.

Leanne gave Alice some additional advice on next steps once the petition expires on 4th June and asked if Sue Ryder could stay in touch to get her involved in future work in this space.
