20th May 2025 - Call with Andy Langford from Cruse, the bereavement support charity

On Tuesday 20th May 2025, Alice our founder had an extremely positive call with Andy Langford, Clinical Director at Cruse, to discuss the work we have been doing campaigning for paid bereavement leave in the UK.

While Cruse were unable to directly share our petition on social media, Andy was keen to share details of the work Cruse are doing to advocate for paid bereavement leave and enhanced bereavement support as part of the Employment Rights Bill which is currently making its way through Parliament. Cruse, alongside other bereavement charities, are seeking to include amendments within the bill which expand and strengthen bereavement leave for employees. Andy also discussed the roles of the newly formed All Party Parliamentary Group on Bereavement Support and the UK Commission on Bereavement.

Excitingly, Alice was asked if she would be happy for Cruse to keep in touch particularly around the possibility of getting involved with the All Party Parliamentary Group on Bereavement Support by providing a lived experience perspective.
